CLEANING YOUR RUG

Cleaning Instructions

Vacuum the rug regularly to remove dust and dirt. Use a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar or rotating brush to loosen dirt, and a strong suction to remove it.

Shake out the rug outside to remove any loose dirt or debris.

Spot clean any stains as soon as possible using a gentle, non-toxic cleaning solution. Test the solution on an inconspicuous area of the rug first to make sure it doesn't damage the fibers.

If the rug is heavily soiled or has a bad odor, you may want to take it to a professional rug cleaner for deep cleaning. Make sure to choose a cleaner who has experience with handmade rugs.

If you decide to clean the rug yourself, fill a large basin or bathtub with cool water and a mild detergent. Gently agitate the rug in the water, being careful not to scrub too hard or use hot water. Rinse the rug thoroughly with cool water until all soap residue is removed.

Squeeze out excess water from the rug by rolling it up in a towel or using a wet-dry vacuum. Do not wring or twist the rug, as this can damage the fibers.

Hang the rug to air dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources, which can cause fading or shrinkage.

Once the rug is completely dry, vacuum it again to fluff up the fibers.
